It’s always hard to see the sweet days of summer come to an end, but at the same time, many of us look forward to what the last quarter of the year brings and of course, so many of us are ready to get back on “a schedule”. Yes, another school year is upon us and you can feel the excitement in the air.

While putting this issue of DavieLiFE together, I was reminded that we are truly blessed. As you read through this issue, you’ll understand what I mean. Organizations that come together to support many who are in need, individuals and their cheerleaders who work together to overcome obstacles, a community devoted to education that works together to give our students amazing opportunities, and individuals who devote their time and talent to make this time of year so special for so many. All of this (and more) is illustrated in this issue of DavieLiFE.

Our feature for this special back-to-school issue highlights Davie County High School’s Career and Technical Education program. I encourage you to read about the program, how it has changed, what it provides Davie County students, how you can help your student access this unique learning opportunity and consider how your business or organization can partner with this program that is preparing students for the future.

We have also included the annual Back-to-School special section that includes a message from Davie County Schools Superintendent, Jeff Wallace, calendars for DCS and the DCS Early College, and important contact information. Be sure to pull this section out and hang somewhere handy so you’ll never have any questions about the 2022-23 school calendar schedule. I continue to be grateful to all who make it possible to bring DavieLiFE to the community.

Without your support, our publication that is dedicated to life in all of Davie County would not be a reality. Thank you!

Special thanks to Kathy Miller of One Shot Photography for her work on the feature story photos, and also Marnic Lewis for providing photos of some very special Friday Night Lights here in Davie County!
