Is anyone else excited to be getting back to normal (well, at least kind of)?!?! This time last year, we were still in shut-down —working from home, wrapping up a virtual school year, and trying to learn how to recognize people by their eyes…I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been happier to see teeth!

As we worked on this summer issue of DavieLiFE, it was so exciting to see information come in that evolved around things that would be happening in our community! Places to go, things to do, ways to support our small businesses (who have been through the ringer) and so much more. I encourage you to take advantage of all that we have going on in the community and if you want a quick reference, check out our list of “Dates to Remember” on page 67. In addition, we’ve revamped our Directory of Advertisers so you can use that as a resource to support local. Check it out on page 70.

As this issue hits stands, many of us will be celebrating a new set of graduates (including me, our middle son Nate graduates from Davie High). Some will be from right here in Davie at either the high school or early college, or possibly college graduates from many different places. This is a tremendous accomplishment for our graduates who have experienced challenges like no other due to the COVID pandemic. On behalf of DavieLiFE — congratulations, may your future be all that you hope for, and don’t forget HOME!

Now, take some time to get outdoors and enjoy the parks in Davie County (see page 36), and support our local community by taking part in some of the fun and exciting events that they have planned!

Have fun and please enjoy this issue of DavieLiFE!
