A new era of formalwear has made its way to Clemmons: Walker Lane Dress and Tux, a boutique owned and operated by Caroline Bandy Walker, a Davie County native. Situated in the location formerly occupied by Hip Chics Formalwear and Village Tuxedo off of Lewisville-Clemmons Rd, the boutique is a local go-to destination for all things formal.

Caroline’s journey to becoming a small business owner is rooted in her excitement for style and her ties to the community. The daughter of Darryl and Gina Bandy, Caroline grew up surrounded by encouragement and creativity. Her husband, Jeremy Walker, is also a familiar name in Davie County, celebrated for his career as a Major League Baseball player. Together, they bring a blend of hometown pride and entrepreneurial spirit to this new venture.

Caroline is a 2017 graduate of Davie County High School and a 2021 graduate of North Carolina State University, where she was on the NC State Dance Team. Her draw to fashion began early. She fondly recalls long car rides as a child where she would ask her mom, Gina, “what kind of outfit can I draw for you?”. Over the years, Caroline was given the opportunity to model and work as a sales associate at Hip Chics Boutique and Hip Chics Formalwear under Kristina Prysiaziunk, gaining hands-on experience in helping customers find the perfect piece for their special occasions. These experiences planted a desire to one day be a small business owner that allowed her to combine her love for fashion and helping others—a dream that has now come true with Walker Lane Dress and Tux.

The boutique is designed as a one-stop shop for all formalwear needs. From tuxedo rentals and purchases to dresses for prom, homecoming, weddings, and other special events, Walker Lane Dress & Tux offers a wide selection. Accessories such as jewelry and shoes are also available, ensuring customers can complete their look in one convenient stop. Unlike some boutiques that require appointments, Walker Lane welcomes walk-ins, making it an accessible option for busy shoppers.

One feature that sets Walker Lane apart is its unique dress registration system used during prom season. The boutique ensures no two customers from the same school purchase the same dress, providing an extra layer of personalization and exclusivity. This attention to detail has already garnered excitement from local teens and their families as prom season approaches.

Speaking of prom, Walker Lane’s prom season officially kicks off the last weekend of December. To celebrate, the boutique will host a Prom Fashion Show on December 27th, showcasing the latest trends in formalwear. This event promises to be a fun experience and an opportunity for customers to preview the newest styles. Pre-registration is required, and interested attendees can sign up through the boutique’s website or by calling the store directly.

Walker Lane Dress and Tux is more than just a formalwear boutique—it’s a reflection of Caroline’s vision and her dedication to her community. Whether it’s helping a mother of the bride find the perfect gown or ensuring a high schooler feels confident at prom, Walker Lane is committed to making special occasions truly memorable.
